State Farm Day at Great America

We are lucky enough to have a great State Farm agent in our family. My father-in-law's business has provided my wonderful things for us (not to mention Jeff's college education). This day my children were lucky enough to be treated to State Farm Day at Great America.

Thanks for a great day Bobpa (and for all of the Life Insurance)!

Our New Puppy Cousin - Bella

Josh and Kerry just got a new black lab puppy. The kids loved meeting their new puppy cousin. I had to save Lucas and Claire a couple of times because she loves to nibble on little ears.

2008 Pinecrest - Back to the Scene

Our friends have a cabin in Pinecrest. This is where Leah had her accident in the summer of 2007. They had asked up to go up a couple of times since then but I had always come up with an excuse because I couldn't bear to go back. Finally we found a weekend that would work and Jeff was able to go with us this time. This is the first time that Jeff had been up to the Dicksons' cabin. After shedding a few tears as I showed Jeff the window where Leah fell and the field from which she was airlifted, we were able to have a great time.

The kids loved hanging out the lake.

Kayaking is fun and the water was wonderful.

Jeff took Jared and Leah for a 5-mile hike with our friends, the Gehrkes. The hike was beautiful and the kids were exhausted.

It is always great to get away and spend time with the family. We were once again reminded to never take life for granted. We are so glad our little Leah is okay.

The Kids Meet Max

My best friend from high school, Miel, had her first little boy on my 34th birthday (her second wedding anniversary). He decided to enter the world a couple of months early so the kids didn't meet him until he was about 2 months old.

Lucas was sweet enough to run upstairs and bring down his favorite striped blanket to share with Max.

Sunday Afternoons

Nonni and Bobpa often come over for Sunday dinner. The kids love when Nonni sings with them at the piano.

As I watch them I know that these are the moments that they will always remember.
